Docking your Milestone

I haven't purchased a dock quite yet and I have a few questions before I do.

1) What really makes the dock put the phone into...dockmode?
Is it just the magnet? and then you have to have it plugged in someway for it to actually charge?

2) Can you change any of the color schemes of the dock without rooting/themes/ect?

3) Are there any cases out there the actually work with the OEM Dock?

I have a palm pre and outta curiosity I put my Milestone on the pre touchstone and it went to dockmode, unfortunately the touchstone wasn't powerful enough to actually hold the phone up

1 ) Yeah it is a little magnet which puts it in docking mode. On the back of the dock there is a micro-usb connection so you actually plug the charger in there instead of the wall socket/computer.

2 ) As far as I know the dock can't be skinned.

3 ) I don't know
