I have the weather channel widget, setcpu. I'm also wondering about beautiful widgets because I'm thinking of downloading that to find out what all the fuss is about ;-)!

I find that they do drain the battery but to no great extent. The major drains on the battery are the screen, telephone use, and active GPS.

Thanks. Yeah the display is a huge hog! After that it's phone use and my browser is usually right up there as well. I have the stock browser, but might move to dolphin HD or xscope lite.

If the widget is designed to poll for something, like weather, it does use data.

Just set the poll times longer so it's not checking as often I'd you find it to be a problem
