I have a rooted Droid 2 Global. Are there any themes supported on the stock ROM? If not, should I update to Fission, would there be themes for the Global?

Not a lot of stock rom themes out.. that I know of anyway.. If Fission isn't something you were looking to flash as a custom rom, then I'd recommend finding metamorph themes.. for the most par the themes are just some png's or icons like the top battery, 3g, etc... and besides the low res phones, one metamorph theme works on a lot of different phones and roms since it's just png replacement... droidpirate.com has quite a few icons and throughout the droid themes and up and coming section are other themes designed for mm.... good luck and always make a nandroid back up before installing any theme of any kind and before flashing any ROMS as well....

Also, you need to deodex a stock ROM before you can theme it.

I don't know all the rules with deodexing but I've made a lot of icon sets and so far they've installed on odexed and deodexed roms... it's the xml color changes and transparencies that don't work.. xml's will bootloop and transparent png's will just be solid... that's just what I have come across but like I said, I don't know all the rules on deodexed roms...

Weird. I've seen too many threads where odexed stock ROMs bootlooped. My bad. :)

Not your bad at all... I've been told many times you can't theme an odexed rom... however, I think not all stock roms have been odexed so I have successfully made icon sets for the Huawei Ascend which is a stock rom and use the MDPI folder... but other stock phones might have issues... I was also told ya can't make a mm theme with xml changes... but ya can... :)... BTW, what's the Rescue Squad?...

We're folks who try to rescue phones that are in need of emergency aid as well as just in general on the site. Low-level staff, but staff all the same. :)

    I've been busy. :)

@draexo, the D2G is still relatively new and not a lot of devs have it, so themes and ROMs are few and far between. Make sure you make a backup before you flash any of them and be prepped with the SBF.

I've decided to just stay rooted for now. Fission Rom is only one for Droid 2 Global and I hear of bugs and issues. I am working on my battery issue - I have made some progress. I still might buy the extended battery for it. I love all the root apps I can get and they take care of my main needs.

My wife has an X, and I know I can do a lot more with that... but she will not let me. :( Maybe she will let me root it?

I had black glass on just a stock rooted d2 non global. Check it out and see if it supports the global edition.
