I know it's blocked in most roms, but I just switched to Bugless today and I'm having this pop up, any suggestions on how to permanently block it. I like my rooted Froyo!

Wait, so I allow the OTA to install? That doesn't make sense.

I have BB installed and I'm getting the notification now, never did with Lithium or CM

It says in the article that after you install the update if you still see the message then hit install, it will be blocked by clockwork or sp and then just reboot and you won't see it again.

    Worked fine for me.

Worked for me. I got the notification to update. I hit install - it booted into recovery. Then I just hit reboot. Viola..... no more problems. Not sure how this can be so difficult.

It is easy... and I thought I was all finished with the notifications when I performed the procedure you noted above last week. I noted with great satisfaction that Settings - About Phone - System Updates displayed "Your system is currently up to date".

That was until this morning when I got the notification again, first time since performing the above procedure last Thursday. Went through the update, blocked by Clockwork procedure again. We'll see how long it holds this time.

I may just run Pete's script to block the notifications.

Oh wow, that sucks. I got the notice last week and haven't gotten it again yet. Same for some of my family members. I hear on the Droid news that they're pushing out another 2.2 update, I wonder if that was it?

    It doesn't work

I have both my droid and my wife's droid rooted with BB .4, between the two phones, we've received about 12 OTA notifications AFTER doing the install/reboot procedure.

It may work for some, but not for everyone, which means it does not work in the definition that it's an absolute solution.
