Disable voice mail?

I never check it, and I hate voicemail, how do I disable it, can I do it on the phone or do I need to call Verizon?

If you dont need it and you never check, why do you want to disable it...seems senseless to me.

Well the main reason is when someone leaves a voice message the notification icon stays until I dial in and delete it, which I hate doing.

Guess I'm not the only person who absolutely hatess voicemails lol. I wish there was a way to disable.

Turn off the notofications for voicemail...shouldnt be too hard...i really cant help as I use Google Voice as my voicemail handler...
