Disable default dialer

I would like to completely disable the S4 stock phone app and begin to use my old standby DialerOne. Could someone provide me with detailed instructions on how to do this?

Installs fine. Strangely, once I dial a phone number in DialerOne, it begins to dial in the stock dialer. The option to disable the stock app is greyed out and DialerOne doesn't seem to have a "Make default" option.

I would have thought that you would have been given the option to make it the default. Strange that it didn't.

I know, right! Measuring the lack of response to my inquiry I fear there is no fix. If that's the case I will be very disappointed..
