I just recently rooted my Moto Droid on friday night and am thoroughly enjoying playing with ROM Manager and Metamorph, etc. I was curious as I keep seeing the 'ol, "Make a Nandroid backup". I understand it's a backup, but so are Clockworkmod and SPRecovery...

So my question is what exactly is the difference between Clockwork vs. SPRecovery vs. Nandroid?

Forgive me if this has been asked before and I failed to find it.

They are 2 different custom recoveries, CW gives a bit more control over wiping partitions. Beside that not much difference.

But SPR Nandroids only work for SPR and CW Nandroids only work for CW

Edit: SPR and CW are recoveries.
Nandroids are backups made with those recoveries.

Check out Link 1 in my sig for more info.

So if I made a backup using clockwork or SPrecovery then I'm good and loading into the recovery screen at startup to do a Nandroid isn't necessary?
