I've nearly given up hope of finding a swipe keyboard that doesn't require me to go back and correct nearly every word. I'm so frustrated!

I've had the best luck with the Google keyboard. A lot less errors than others I've tried.

Which ones have you used?
I've tried them all and Swype beta has been my go back to with every other one, including the paid version of Swype. SlideIt just got a major update and is MUCH better than before but still needs to be slid slowly and methodically, unlike Swype beta. To get, if you don't already have it, Swype beta go to their website and click on the link to get it.
Hope that helps.

SwiftKey is my favorite but I use Google Keyboard on my Nexus and it's more than acceptable.
