Deleting Pictures

Just got my Xoom a few hours ago, and I'm loving it. I do have a couple questions though, one of which I'll ask now.
How do you delete photo albums? For some reason when I transferred my pics over from my DX, I got a bunch of personal pics that were not even in my phone, but on my laptop in my Picasa. To make things more complicated, the pics I thought I transferred are not on my Xoom, but do show up on my laptop when it's connected. The pics that are on the Xoom do not show up on my laptop when I'm connected either.
I've tried to long-press the albums, but don't get the option to delete.

You need to go into your account settings and uncheck the box to sync your Picassa account.

that only stops future downloads, i am still stuck with pics thats i can't delete.
