Deleting contacts

My father in law purchased a droid. He is experiencing the phone randomly deleting contacts. I have no idea if this is a fixable issue. He had the Verizon store look at his os and they said it looked ok. Anyone have any ideas?

take it back and TELL them you want a new phone bc its doing it theres no fix for it iv read 1-2 other threads with this issue over about a yr and they said they had to take the phone back as well
