    Hello all,

To preface this issue, I did search the forum (and many Google results) to find an answer to this before posting.

First off, I'm (obviously) new to rooting and in a week of having a rooted Droid, I'm greatly enjoying the experience. I don't recall why exactly I was tinkering with my calendar...it may have had something to do with standing in Disneyland lines all day with the girl and needing something to tinker with. I think there was some kind of Force Close error or something.

The result is, I deleted my calender.apk and calender.odex. I am assuming I am going to have to revert to stock to repair this, and just as well, because I was also foolish enough not to bother backing up with Nandroid or whatever other apps are available for that.

However, before I begin looking into what I need to do to get back to stock (and then root again in a more safe, prepared and calculated fashion), is there any way to replace my calendar app?

I tried downloading a modified calendar.apk from some post I found somewhere else, but the calendar will not sync (Settings->Accounts & Sync->My Gmail Account shows a sync error on the calendar).

Thanks for your assistance. I'll be sure to approach this a little more cautiously next time!

I will try a hard reset as soon as I'm home. To clarify, will this only remove data but not necessarily my rooted status + ROM, etc.? Or will this attempt to "return to stock"?

Yes, that was the calendar I downloaded. I WAS able to install it, but it was never able to sync with my Google Calendar.

It will only remove your data and apps -- the root-status and ROM itself will not change.

To my pleasant surprise, Nandroid WAS on my phone as part of a package I downloaded while rooting, and it backed up before I rooted. So I'm back to stock version...yay!

Maybe I'll try to learn a little more about rooting and whatnot before I dive in this time.

GREAT!!! I'm really glad this worked out for you. Backup often and it can really bail you out. I'm at the point now that I do a new backup at the end of each day and then delete one of my older ones. I keep backups for a couple of roms with a couple of themes.

Again, really glad this has worked out for you!!

Missing Stock Calendar - Major issues!

I'd quite like some help with this:

I deleted my stock calendar on my GSII

I've copied the below from another GSII and placed them in "/data/app" as well as in "/system/app". The calendar now shows in my installed apps but force closes when I open it. I seem to be missing "Calendar Storage" and another "calender" app in manage apps.

    touchwizcalendar.apk
    touchwizcalendar.odex
    TWcalendarappwidger.apk
    TWcalendarappwidger.odex
    calendarprovider.apk
    calendarprovider.odex
    com.android.calendar.apk
