I just downloaded it with no problems from the rescue site where the rsd lite is stored for link 3 of my signature. How about a right-click save-as?

It definitely matters but it will also tell you if you are downloading the wrong one.

The root of your sd card is the open space of the sd card. Root is not in any folder. Simply place the update file in any BLANK space on your sd card and you have placed it on the root!

Also, one other problem a lot of people are having. Depending on your computer system, you do not have to put the .zip in the file name. Windows XP and I think Windows 7 puts that extension on automatically. If you type it onto the file name when you go to reboot recovery will not read that file. So if you are on XP of 7 simply name the file "update" and leave it at that.

NO NO NO do not create any folder. The root is what the name implies. Its the base of something. Like the root of the tree. The root of the sd card is the base of the sd card. All those folders you see there or files are on the root. The white space you see is the root. So just put the update folder in an empty space not inside anything.
