I'm looking for a widget that I can assign or link another app to, instead of calender. Like the date app from home++, but now I have switched back to the stock home screen and miss my date widget being linked to ak notepad.. anyone know of one that can do that outside of home++? I'm not rooted. Thanks in advance!

Try digiclock widget. You can assign it to open anything when you click on it. I think this is the correct app. I had it installed for a while but decided I did not need another clock on y home screen.

I just re-installed that widget. You need to open the app in your app drawer called digi clock settings. From there you can configure tap launches.
