You should be ok, but if I were you I would have a wifi network I could tap int at home so I could get emails, download apps and app updates. That way you could turn off mobile data when a home. If you have a wifi network at work that would be even better.

Yep, we have Wifi setup at home for sure.

So if she is on a wifi network, things like email sync, apps download etc are not taken out of the VZW data plan?

How do you turn off 'mobile data'?

I have wifi at work, but the network is monitored closely. Not an issue as I have the unlimited plan.

Ive got the $15/month data plan and so far its worked out for me. Im a college student so most places on campus offer Free Wi-Fi wherever I am which is nice. I keep the 3G off unless I need it where theres no Wi-Fi. Yes, its a little more hassle, but hey it saves me another $15-20 a month which is great.

Watching videos sucks the most data from what Ive seen, as long as your not on YouTube 24-7 and careful, you should be fine.
How do you keep 3G OFF, from my knowledge once you have WiFi enabled and you are in a wifi area and you are using the wifi network 3G is NEVER used, no need to turn anything off, just keep WiFi on at all times.

You turn it off in the settings.

You're right, but the thing is you're still using data when you're outside the "WiFi zone" if you have any apps that use data. Streaming music, e-mail, Facebook orTwitter apps, etc.

Turning it off means that with no WiFi there's no data use and therefore no risk of using 3G unless you turn it on for emergency use.
