I'm a little puzzled at why there seems to be so much focus and vitriol aimed at Motorola over the data drop issues. There seem to be myriad complaints of similar issues with HTC and Samsung, etc. models also. This suggests this a Verizon issue. Perhaps some phones handle the data handshake issues a little better than others and may be more tweakable to minimize the pain, but this seems to be a network issue that suggests little hope for any meaningful solution to be offered by a motorola OTA update. 4g just isn't ready for prime-time. Even the 3G drop issues are common to other makes too. My previous Blackberry was brutal with this and kknow of many issues with LG with this as well. Hate to sound so pessimistic and cynical, but I have a feeling this ain't going awayany time soon. By the way, I wonder how many people dealing with this crap are those grandfathered into the unlimited data plans??
