Dark Wallpapers Good or Bad?

I was looking for some wallpapers online and somewhere it said that dark wallpapers make your phone waste more battery.

Is this true?
If so does it make a big difference on the battery?

I don't think it makes a difference. Backlight on is backlight on.

If anything I would expect the opposite to be true. White/light colors take more power and light to display than do dark colors.

The lcd screen produces little to no light. Most consumption is through the leds keeping the screen lit up, turning brightness down is the only real saver. Black looks cooler though. Amoled screen are different that darks take less power and brights more.
