D2G unidentified port

    Hello, hopefully someone knows the hardware a bit more than I do. I am curious to know what the port is to the right of the SIM card under the battery plate. It looks like an antenna adapter you would typically find on a laptop wireless card. If it indeed and antenna than this is interesting. Here is a picture for reference:

    It's a connector for an external antenna, pretty much every phone I've seen has one somewhere. I THINK it's purpose is to allow for permanent mounting inside a vehicle with an external antenna. Even my old flip phones had them, sometimes hidden behind a rubber plug.

    No, in modern phones it's used mostly for testing.

    Ahhhh, makes sense since there would have to be some way to attach an antenna for testing before the device is completely assembled.
