I like to turn my phone off at night while I'm sleeping and to let it charge. Problem is that when I plug it in and turn it off it will power back on by its self. Is there anyway to keep it powered off?

No, it wont charge while it's off.

You can disable notifications manually, or with Timeriffic or Tasker.

I think my D2 does too, but I'm not sure, since it's never off.

I think it might just be a limitation of the first gen Moto Android phones.

Its not a first gen. thing, its just how all androids and most phones charge. Idk if u've tried but most Motorola's can actually work while plugged in even if the battery is out. Like a computer.

Not ALL android phones are like that. The D1 yes, it will not turn off. I just came from a HTC Droid Eris about 2 weeks ago though and it WILL charge while off.

I just recently purchased the Bionic, and im having a problem with the phone staying off! Every night before i go to bed, i like to turn my phone off the save battery. I power off the phone and put it on desk for the night. In the morning when i go to turn the phone on, its already powered on as if i never turned it off. Tried this a few times to make sure i wasn't going crazy or doing something wrong. Very odd!

Anyone else experience this problem??

D2 Global on CM7 also charges while off if you power down while on charger. Not sure how effective it is, but the charging light does light up.
