Wondering if anyone can help me get my D1 back to factory. Its been rooted since I got it when it came out, but now I have a thunderbolt and giving the D1 to the wife, so id like to get it back to where it should be at this point unrooted. So it will get whatever OTA updates it should from now on and its the way it would be from Verizon.
    Thanks guys.

You are going to have to SBF it. I have the files but I am at work and they are at home. I would just google "Droid 1 SBF"

So it will be up to date with whatever updates it should have at this point. (froyo or ginger). Or do I have to do an update through the phone after I sbf back.

After you sbf it back, you'll probably have to OTA update when prompted. Depending on which SBF file you use.

Use rsdlite and make sure you have the motorola drivers installed on your computer (which I'm sure you do if you've ever hooked up your phone to your pc). You will want to put this sbf file on your computer too. Research how to sbf your phone online. Its not hard.

Here's what seems like a pretty nice guide on how to unroot and go to stock 2.2 that I found from a quick google search http://goo.gl/o5H8K

It would be nice if people would simply search and read.

Hey shad0www, good looks on that link. Worked like a charm! Oh and sithdroid, iv been on enough forums to know to search for something before asking. Something this complex (to me at least not wanting to screw up the phone)wanted to get expert advice on the easiest and newest way to go about it. So keep your comments to yourself nextime!
