I decided to give this rom a try. I'm currently downloading it through ROM manager, but it didn't ask me if I wanted to install a kernel? Do I have to manually install one to overclock?

enable developer mode in ROM manager (menu key), and kernel options will be available from the CyanogenMod developer page.

Install the ROM first. Wipe data/cache if you are using CM for the first time. Check google apps before download starts. Once it flashes and boots up, redownload ROM manager. Flash the clockwork recovery. Then enable developers mode.(press menu and the option is there). Then press download ROM. The kernels are under cyanogenMod. Good luck..

I was running BB 0.9 and I had issues at boot with memory management, but this is running smoothly. I'll be sticking with CyanogenMod for a while.

Why do I need to check google apps in the beginning? What does that include?

Google Apps includes all of the Google Experience applications like Gmail, etc. It is important to get them.

Google apps contain most importantly the MARKET app for downloading stuff. Thats why u need it. If u miss it there is an update.zip in the cyanogen forums that u can use too.

Was on BB for a while. Then switched to CM. Staying love it. Its a keeper. The only other ROM that I considered staying with was the UD 9.0. It was solid for me, never had a FC and was very happy with it. Will wait for blackdroid to release a ESE 81 version and try it. :). Too many choices:icon_ banana:

im running a 1000ghz 7 slot bekit its running smoth so far on cyanogen 5.0.5.7 with the smoked glass theme
    edit:

i like using this one because the lowest setting you can use is 125ghz so that works for me and keeps my battery up and running and my phone running a little bit cooler

Cool thanks. Is there a way to get themes through rom manager? I wonder why this developer doesn't have his own section on these forums. It would really help with all my questions lol.

I do have the paid version. I didn't see an option for themes. I'll check again.
