This rom is just amazing. I've been a big follower and supporter of Pete's BB, but man. They're both great roms, but I'd give the edge to Koush and Cyanogen here.

One last note...For people having issues with any rom, try a fresh install. This means a wipe of all data, but it will clear a lot of crap out of the way. Sometimes different bits and pieces from each rom do not play well together.

I now agree. I did not care for switching sprecovery so I did the other method of install, but have to say, I am pretty happy with this one. Super quick (screen to screen) and love that I can turn off haptic on my dialer. Will have to work on a2sd, but not a concern right now. I love that this is original as well and not just bits and pieces.

Have used most of petes bb and blackdroid, but I am going to stick with this for a while.

Same thing happened to me, so I did a wipe of /data and the problem resolved itself.

okay I flashed cyanogen and did not select google apps or modules. Do those improve functionality? Also the one problem that bugs me is when I go from the browser to home there is a lengthy delay till the icons show up. It's just blank for several seconds. It sometimes happen when I rotate the screen and close the keyboard from typing something in landscape on the physical qwerty too. Also did you notice the launcher uses like 30mb! I killed it with task killer just to see and when I did it freed up a huge amount of ram. Anyone know solutions to a. blank screeen and b. launcher using up ram? thanks

Does it have the same bugs as the last release? I thought Cyanogen was the best rom too but the bugs are annoying. BuglessBeast + helix launcher 2 is superior.

I'll try out Cyanogen again though, once the bugs are ironed out it'll probably be my rom of choice.

What bugs? Sometimes these are not so much bugs, but careless installs or some other issues. I have yet to have a force close etc with this release. Just doing an update.zip may not be the answer.

Exactly...I bet many of the issues found on most roms are just people doing countless update.zip installs. Loading and reloading over other roms will eventually cause problems. Kind of like only doing updates to OS's on your computer. Always good to do a clean install.

Battery life looks good to me so far and I haven't had any force closings. On BB I used to have some force closings here and there (I ran it with AdamZ's low voltage kernel @600mhz). Cyanogen is really smooth and just seems... different, in a good way. It's top notch.

I'm still trying to figure out how to install the newer Google Maps from the Market, though. Getting some errors when trying to install over the packaged apk/setup.
