The HTC One M9 runs one of my least favorite OEM skins of all time, HTC Sense. One great thing about HTC devices is that they are pretty easily hacked. You can unlock the bootloader and S-Off your device which will allow you to install a custom recovery like Team Win Recovery Project. From there you can install a custom Rom to get rid of Sense if you, like me, are not a fan.
CyanogenMod has been available for the HTC One M9 for a while in the form of unofficial beta builds. The beta builds do bring the AOSP experience to your M9, but at a cost. In my experience early beta builds were pretty buggy and not fit for daily driver use. We finally have official CyanogeMod support for the HTC One M9! Support comes in the form of Nightly builds. These are not necessarily bug free, but most functions will be working and this should now be daily driver ready. Head to the link below to grab nightly builds for your device.
