Any time I attempt to download a ROM my phone won't connect to the data network or wifi. I can download anything else with no issues. It eventually times out and just cancels the download, both ROM manger and downloading from the forum does this. Any clue what's up? I'm on SS4.8 now.

CM6 or Saphire 1.1.1, I'd prefer CM6 as I really like the add ons they have.
Its a toss up though because I haven't seen any quadrant scores on cm but Saphire looked promising I'm that plus they have alot of kernel selections.

I ask because I have heard of issues downloading UD but not with these others that you have mentioned - has this problem just became apparent or have you had it in the past ?

I honestly wouldn't know, I've been running SS since 4.7 probably for the past 3-4 months now. This is the first time I've attempted a new ROM since then.

Here;s my 2 cents... make sure you have the box checked in settings to be able to download from alternate sources... or whatever it is. 3rd party apps.. something like that. Check the box for debugging too while youre at it.

Couldn't leave you hanging... settings>applications check the box for "unknown sources" and then go to settings>applications>development and check the debugging box.

Most of my apps are 3rd party. That's been checked since day 1.

Maybe it has to do with the file size then? ROM's are bigger than most anything else you would download.

Try downloading it on your computer and then moving it to your SD card.
