I started working on a set of icons that use this broken glass theme. They don't work too well with dark backgrounds because you can't see the inner shadow which ruins the depth illusion. But they look amazing with a light background like the polar clock live wallapaper.

Here is a preview of the set

I'm having trouble finding good stock android 2.x icons to work with so any help would be appreciated. Ill post them as I create them.

Also NO REQUESTS WITHOUT LINK TO AN ICON. Don't just give me a program name and expect me to go find an icon. give me a link to an icon you want converted or you won't see it here. AndroidZoom.com - Browse the Android Market and download all available applications and games is a great place to check for market apps.

Once I realized the whole effect was done by using an inner shadow it was pretty simple to replicate hehe. My first attempts just looked like splats.

For a dark background, why not an inner glow instead of a drop shadow? It would look kind of like it was backlit?

Definitely like the icons. Unfortunately, I also prefer dark backgrounds.

This is directed to OpalCat but anyone can answer, if I want to replace my icons or break in my CS4 with trying to make my own, how do I implement the icons? Can I just use Root Access to overwrite the existing files?

I'm not sure how/if you can change the icons in the app drawer, or in Apps Organizer (but I'd love to know, and if so, how to do it!), but if you have shortcuts either on your screen or in folders you can use something like Better Cut to edit each shortcut (both icon and text). It lets you use pictures from your SD card, so you can just make a folder in your DCIM folder and have at it!

Apps organizer you can just long press the label and change icon. You can't change them in the app drawer though.

You can also use Better Cut to set any icon you want... I was referring to in the drawer though.

Can't change in the drawer unless you modify the apk of the app.
