Thanks. The other command actually makes the /local folder.

ok, im not having any problems putting these animations up anymore (thanks again to everybody who helped) but I just have a question about the file names. is it possible to copy the zip files to the sdk tools folder without renaming and run a command of ./adb push filename.zip /data/local or does it have to be named bootanimation.zip because its replacing the original file named bootanimation.zip?

I'm just trying to find a faster way of swapping these out and organizing them by just copying them all to the tools folder rather than having to rename files constantly ya know.

I'm sure a boot animation loader/swapper is or will be in the works soon.

That would rock for sure, not that I mind doing the other way. I kinda like doing it that way to be honest. Makes me feel like I know something lol.

In order to push the file without renaming it first just do this:

    ./adb push filename.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip

yes, edit the desc.text file so it is 480 854....but...it will make the animation look weird if it was not made to be full screen. the only way around that is to edit each frame to the right size

It overwrites the current one. If you are bushing to /data/local then the one in /system/media will still be there and if you want to revert back to it you can just delete the one /data/local.
