For me it is about bloatware removal and the ability to get deeper into the theming of the phone beyond just an alternate ui.

Like I said earlier, that's the one thing that piques my curiosity about it.... and probably for me the only reason I'd even consider it. I'm creative Director for a gaming app on the Facebook Platform and have been designing and/or skinning just about anything that catches my eye. I'd really love to have a go at the Droid. Perhaps someday when i'm not so busy my head is spinning. I have to say though, from the vast amounts of feedback---while I may not feel like there's an express need to root... I'm certainly more comfortable with the idea.
