create shortcut folder on desktop with Ice Cream??

i'm trying to figure out how to take a folder on my external drive and make a shortcut to it on my homescreen with ice cream sandwich

used to be able to just long press the screen and create shortcut, but now long press just shows me wallpaper setting.

how can i create a folder shortcut on my bionic desktop?

Unfortunatly you cannot do this with the stock file manager. If rooted use root explorer. If not rooted use Astro file. Both will give you an option to add to home screen.

I forgot to mention that i am using astro file manager. i read somewhere else ad figured out that you have to use the astro widget to add those files to the desktop
