Controlling media player with external buttons

My blackberry curve allowed me to pause a song by hitting the standby button, and go to the next track or previous track by pressing and holding the volume up/down buttons. Right now, this is the one thing I'm missing to jump to the droid. I am currently putting the droid in my glove box and working out with my old curve, that's really sad. I don't want to have to pull my droid out of the case, unlock it, and click the next/prev button on the screen. Thanks.

Its a feature I miss too and haven't seen a workaround other than using bluetooth head phones...
