contact issue

I've tried searching around and I can't seem to find this same issue.

I just got the motorola droid 2 days ago, and had my contacts xfered from my razar at the verizon store. I had to setup a new gmail account (that has no contacts in it) to get the droid.

I noticed yesterday that somehow two contacts got combined liz cell and lisa cell. i figured i would just delete them and try to recreate them both. the strange thing is if i add a new contact it works fine. if i add a second new contact it seems to join the two accounts under the same name. these are the only two names i'm seeing this happen with so far. I've tried resetting the phone and it doesn't seem to help.

Has anyone had the same issue?

I had the same kind of problem and discovered an option under "edit contact" to separate a set of contacts that are grouped or to join ungrouped contacts.

yeah. i found that too. I still don't understand why it would not allow me to have the two different names entered.
