    Darkseider,
I only mentioned the X since that was one of the droids I have been looking at. And saw that quite a few on this forum mentioned it being locked down and they werent getting it.

Apple could make a device that that is perfect 100% and you would stil find a flaw somewhere. Its ok to hate Apple , I have friends that do.

I do agree , If its a problem file a claim and get a free bumper.

Re: Sticking Toyota Gas Peddle - did you know that every one of the reports came from someone over 60 years old? Makes you think doesn't it?

Right, it's only fair. If you have a case on the iPhone there's no problem. If you don't hold it the way to cause the problem you won't need a bumper either, so they won't be giving away a lot of them. An easy fix.

When Back To The Future first came out on DVD the last 2 movies had problems with widescreen. The top and bottom were cut off slightly. If you didn't like that there was a number to call and they sent you a corrected copy (after sending in your copy). Easy fix again.

Take a look at Sen. Schumer to Apple: Offer free antenna fix | Circuit Breaker - CNET News

Here Senator Schumer has written a letter to Steve Jobs after seeing the Consumers Reports article. This does not feel right, somehow.

    See also http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/mobile/07/15/apple.iphone.problems/index.html?eref=igoogle_cnn

BTW, I saw an iPhone 4 for the first time yesterday. It was pretty spiffy, I admit. It had a bumper and when I mentioned that they said it was because of the antenna. Very nice about it and although they owned all Apple products they didn't act fanboyish.

Havent seen the iPhone 4 in Person yet, Im sue I will once i am near the Apple store in a couple weeks. it looks great on the web though LOL

Looks like I will be switching to Verizon anyway. my wife gets a nice discount through her company for verizon plans and accesories.

The letter from the senator is fishy.
It was sent after Apple announced the press conference.
Typical from our poloticians, Just trying to get noticed.

I dont see a recall of 1.7 Million phones ,but interested to see how Apple handles this. The bad press from Steve's remark didnt help , but he is known for his short and blunt replies. of which I still find it odd that as the CEO he responds to anonymous emails.

I'm real interested to see what Steve Jobs says at their press conference today. It would do him and Apple a TON of good to eat at least a little crow instead of fluffing over things even more.

I would say that Apple is dealing with this very well.

Atleast from the reports I have seen coming from the conference.
Steve has turned what appeared to be a major issue into a Non-Issue.

0.55% of users have reported an Antenna issue with the iPhone 4
last year 6% complained of antenna issues with the 3GS

I think what most ppl are failing to realize or notice, is not if its an easy fix or not.

Its how easy it is to duplicate the issue. And unlike how some ppl mentioned in comments at Engadget, it doesnt take a death grip to duplicate it....

It takes an extreme double handed death grip for my Droid to start losing a signal. And it takes a death hug for it to eventually lose service.

Thats poor design or poor testing by Apple.

Nokia and RIM kinda told him a thing or two...lol This just gets more n more interesting...
