Tethering my Droid to my iPod Touch

I have searched the forums a little bit to no avail. Here is my dilema. I can't seem to be able to tether my iPod to my Droid. My ipod picks up the signal and even connects, but it says I have no network connection. I have a droid, bb .5, no theme, and am trying to use the wireless tether app. Thanks for any help!

Can you tether a laptop to it? Any other devices to prove you have a functioning wifi set up? Even another droid should connect.

do you have all the security features turned off in your wireless tether app? if not then try that. i've never had a problem getting things to hook up with it all turned off. used to it would do as you described b/c it never asked for permission if you have that part set.

Well, it seems to be working..but only when it wants to. I have tried it on both my computer and my ipod and sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesnt!

Those are always the fun things to fix, the ones that aren't broken all the time!

Did you try downloading and reinstalling the tether app? That might help.
Make a backup first so you can roll back to your current setup if you'd like, before reinstalling.

When you say wireless do you mean bluetooth or WiFi?

Bluetooth methods will not work. The iOS doesn't support this type of connection, at least not without jailbreaking. It will report a bluetooth connection, because you can do the pairing, but won't support the protocols

The paid WiFi Hotspot does work, so rooted solutions that activate the Hotspot should also work.

I see you are getting your answer on a different thread and it is apparently not about bluetooth. Luck.

The ipod touch can connect to an ad-hoc network i can speak from experience on this one. I have a 4th gen touch and tether it almost daily so it can work.

Merged. Harleydad, try not to post the same topic in multiple new threads. Just give your original thread a little "...bump" if nobody has responded in a couple of hours and you still are looking for help.
