computer connection, shows low memory when plenty

Hi guys,

I was trying to add a little over 1 gb of music to my Incredible's phone drive but it didn't let me because it said I had around 1 gb of free memory left, which is very untrue as it is a relatively new phone and I haven't put anything on it yet.
When I dismounted, I checked my phone memory on the phone through settings, and it said I had more than 6 gb of free memory!

Does anyone know what gives? Is there some sort of setting I can tinker with...

Are you trying to add to your SD card or internal memory?
