Have you tried rebooting your computer?

Sorry, I deleted my post since I didn't notice until afterwards that you were still able to use another device just fine...

I had the same problem. I am running Win7 x64 and my computer could not find my Droid. I tried everything I could think of and still no results. I finally came to the conclusion that it was a Win7 problem and I ran the repair utility on the Win7 disc which repaired Windows7 without overwriting the data. That fixed it. I, too, first noticed the problem after installing Droid Explorer.
