I'm sure winner will pull it into one of his builds for us all to beta test.
Yep I will. I am at school but I will pull it in when I get home. Expect an update around 3:30pm MST.
Haha I wish it were that simple, that kernel didn't work very well for me though with the Milestone overclock .apk, never tried manually setting different voltage slots though. However CVPCS 2.0.2 kernel 125-1000 runs really well for me. Looking forward to the new kernel!
I completely understand. The key so far has been customizing the slots and voltages. Without doing so then the exercise is pointless.
Have you tried Prime's one flash method on your GB? At this point it in and of itself is really no different than flashing someone else's kernel other than the second step of renaming the 07overclock to load at boot. With this you get a solid kernel, with compcache if you want it and most importantly you get what amounts to a low voltage kernel. I and many here just flash his fix, rename the 07overclock and do not even fiddle with slots or voltages (at this point) and gain the battery life and no heat issues.
I have a Q about the lockscreen gestures under CM settings: I enabled it. then set up gestures to directly open the linked apps. But on the lockscreen when I do the gestures nothing happens. I assumed that the gestures would take me to the linked apps from the lockscreen itself: without having to unlock the phone and opening the app from the launcher. Am i missing something? Thanks for the replys...
PS: I am running Winner's kanged version of #34
With these nightlys do you guys wipe data each time u flash?
Okay, I love the battery life I love everything on winner's #37 build...but the texts...I am still getting serious issues with not receiving texts and this is of the utmost importance to me...I run part of my business through it.
I know the texts were mentioned before, are they being worked on or fixed already in some hack or build I have missed in the discussion?
Do you have the messaging app locked in memory? I'm not having any problems with texts.
FYI: DSP Manager crash fix was merged into the repo, so that fix should be in the next nightly.
I need a couple of interested CM7 nightly (cmprimed kernel) users that do not need wifi to private message me for a kernel test, I need to verify the new primed kernel default voltage is high enough for other devices and a battery life comparison to the current cmprimed kernel. The slots and voltages are the same as my rename.07overclock script.
Wifi is not broken, the module is simply not included.
I have enough volunteers, thank you all.
I don't know either but I'm thinking the Kernel is the key. It's the interface between the OS and the hardware, right? So the kernel is pretty specific to both right? Froyo kernel might work on GB but they don't talk exactly the same language maybe? Or am i as clueless as i sound??
Edit: Hey Prime, you'll have your new kernel linked on the OP I hope.
I am not sure I would say that all froyo kernels will not work on GB, as I have seen some folks doing just that. But there really is no reason, as many of the usual suspects in the kernel game have GB specific kernels. The biggests tweeks that we see to the kernels seem to be the additional modules that are supported/loaded which deal with wifi, overclocking, cache and other goodies that are less popular. I would hazard a guess and say that the overclocking is the biggest player here, as it controls the phone speed and battery life. This is especially true for our D1's as in stock form the D1 is verrrrry long in the tooth. I think for the average user there really is not a lot the stock D1 will not do, but I think this gap is going to widen more and more in the application market as the dev's get pushed to take advantage of the newest generation of phones which are miles beyond a stock Droid.
And I too am pretty clueless when it comes to kernels other than seeing what these great developers can actually do to improve upon them.
Interesting I haven't tried that, I used the milestoneoverclock apk to set the vsel to 62 at 1ghz, I'm assuming the difference between that and the flash method you're talking about would be the vsels at lower clock speeds? Do you remember what page that link is on?
