So I've been looking around and cant seem to find an answer for this. Sorry if this has been asked around and I didn't notice it.

I installed CM7, 7.0.3 directly from the CM website. I flashed it with no problems and booted into it. It never asked me to sync my phone with my google account which would give me all my contacts, apps, accounts etc. I read that I need to have google apps. I cant find a working package anywhere.
I tried going into Rom manager to download a working package of gapps but it says I need to upgrade to the latest version before downloading anything. The problem is I don't have a market either! I would really like to use CM 7.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!
