i think that involves editing .xml files which i have no idea about. i know you can change the pulldown shade by switching out the shade.png in your rom's framework-res.apk.

some roms have color changing stuff like that built into them.

Check the CM settings under Menu, Settings. I'm pretty sure there are options to change the bar color, notification text color, etc. From what I remember that was introduced in 6.1.2.

This theme is pretty sweet. Works fine for me on 6.1.2.

    [THEME] Custom Gingerbread Theme - 12/16/10 - xda-developers

I made a few tweaks to the images in the apk files, but my tweaks really aren't needed for it to work. I also had to play around a little bit with the text color settings in cyanogenmod to get the text to be white. When I initially installed the theme, it was black text on a black menu bar.

I used cyanogen 7 for a few months and to be completely honest, with this theme, I 99% feel like I'm running gingerbread minus all of the problems I had with gingerbread. Most of the theme is just items ported from stock 2.3. As a bonus, the theme comes with the new market, which some people (including myself) have had issues installing on cyanogen 6.1.

It's time for a froyo comeback....it just runs better on the original Droid.

Amen to that. I wish the developers would release a CM 6.2.2, (based on Froyo 2.2.2) but since they haven't I've switched to Sourcery 2.2. It's as customizable (if not more so) than Cyanogen and a hell of a lot more stable. The developers also respond very quickly on their forum here, too. Gingerbread may be great for the newer phones with more powerful CPUs and more internal memory but so far Froyo works best on the OG Droid.

I was a bit annoyed by the "sourcery magic" and the customizations weren't as straightforward as with CM. I just wanted a stock gingerbread feel (on froyo of course) and I couldn't quite seem to get that with sourcery without spending hours upon hours. CM 6.1.2 seems pretty stable as far as I can tell, or maybe that's just how it seems coming from CM 7.

If you want a "Stock Gingerbread Feel" on FroYo, you should check out Pete Alfonso's "Bugless Beast."
