Just thought I'd share my little story of near-catastrophe.... The other evening I was pulling my Nexus out of my pocket to check it and such...when, for the first time ever in the 4 years I've owned touchscreen phones, I fumbled it and it fell to the street. Face down and all. I couldn't believe it. As hard as it seemed to hit I figured it was done...at a minimum the screen would be all scratched or worse, cracked. I attempted to pick it up...fumbled it AGAIN ( I must've had serious butterfingers that night) and it was face down on the street again. I really thought that would do it in. So I actually got a normal grasp on it and wouldn't you know...not a scratch on the glass!!! No cracks...nothing. There's a small tiny scuff on the corner of the case but the screen is fine...no marks, still responsive to touch, and so on. I thought the notification light may have busted as it wasn't working for a bit after the drop but it started working again a bit later. Dodged a bit of a bullet there.
