I rooted my uncle's OG Droid using superoneclick, and it rooted just fine. I then downloaded rom manager and flashed clockwork mod. It would boot in the first time in clockwork but would not do a nandroid. I did some research and think he needs to format his SD card because it would come up with a wierd error message and the SD card would not mount. Anyway, I would reboot and when I booted into recovery again, it would be the standard recovery. I flashed clockwork a few times and this happened everytime after the initial boot into clockwork. What am I doing wrong. I rooted my OG so long ago, I dont know if I was missing a step.

Try flashing SPR (alternate recovery) then CW, SPR, and CW. If that does not work try flash an older version of CW.

Let us know if either works.

Its the new bootloader. It reverts to stock. If what Mike suggested doesn't work head down to the droid lab and motocache1 has an update.zip that will get it to stick.

    Sent from somewhere...

Wierd, thought only the bootloaders on the newer phones did that. Well I sent my uncle an email with the intructions above, but cannot find the update.zip. Can you link me to it?

Got my uncle to Try and neither worked. What should we do now? Really dont want to wipe the phone if its possible to do the sbf thing. Any fixes you can think of?

flashing the sbf doesn't wipe anything. You can re-root with z4root but the bootloader may not change. Try the motocache method.

The sbf only adds sprecovery and the update.zip only adds root (su, busybox, etc.)

Are you sure you still have root? Open Terminal Emulator and enter SU if the $ does not change to # you have lost root.
