I have always used ClockworkMod recovery because its simple but I've heard great things about the others.

What's your personal favorite and why?

I'm thinking about trying one of the others to try and learn more!

    All input is appreciated!!!

I use Clockwork and Sprecovery. To install ROMs and theme I use SPrecovery because I can get into the SD card for .zip files quickly. I use Clockwork to do my back-ups because it loads EVERYTHING as long as I don't wipe data. I haven't tried RZRecovery. Hope this opinion helps.

It absolutely helps. I'm trying to get as many opinions as possible because I want to hear reasons why everyone thinks one is better then the other. What do you mean you can get to .zip files easier then clockwork?

RZrecovery is the way to go. All the stability of SPRecovery and tons more functionality than Clockwork. It's the new hotness. Plus you can charge your battery while in recovery, that feature alone makes it the only recovery I'll use.

oh yeah, he threw in a flashlight option as well just for kicks.

If I try RZRecovery, I know I can easily go back to Clockwork through Rom Manager. But, can I easily go back to RZRecovery?

RZ is as easy to install as any update.zip, just re-flash with Clockwork and you're good to go.

Yes, all you have to do is flash the update.zip containing RZR from within Clockwork or SPR

I was looking it to see how to install RZ and all I could find was the process using ADB which I've never used. I can learn but I thought it would be easier.

But the way you guys describe it, its easy! So I do it EXACTLY like another rom? I just want to make sure.

Also is this the recovery that you all use? Why do you prefer it over Clockwork?

Can a backup made with SPR be restored using RZRecovery?

I have been using SPR up until now and I have kept the backups I have made of different ROMs (that's how I swithch between them) and I would hate to not be able to use them any more.

Spr is most stable, but lacks features and hasn't been updated in a while...
Clockworkmod is not quite as stable but has more options and can be used with rom manager
Rzr is as stable as spr, has more options than cwm, but doesn't work on rom manager

Here's a link for you if you haven't found it yet.

    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/ra...-based-update-zips-battery-charging-more.html

The above explains everything you need to learn about RZR recovery.

I placed http://rzdroid.com/ftp/recovery/RZR-2.0.3-update.zip and named it to "update zip" and installed and now using RZR recovery instead of CWM.

I like that i can wipe/delete everything with one simple push and overclock the recovery to 1100. What i also like about RZR recovery is that you no longer have to name "update zip" when installing ROMS and Themes.

I read http://www.droidforums.net/forum/pr...installing-rom-through-raidzero-recovery.html for some great step by step instructions.

    Hope that helped

Man that's perfect. I was looking for a reason why people liked their recovery. I thought I would see a lot of people liking SP, but everyone seems to like RZRecovery!

    You cad! :)

    +10

You forgot one of the most important things he did: Overclocked the recovery itself ...

    RZRecovery is all you need.

I couldn't believe just how fast RZRecovery was either the first time I used it. I backed my rom up with CW right before I flashed RZRecovery just in case something bad happened, and then made another backup w/RZR. I was expecting it to take a while just like it always does w/CW, but boy was I surprised! Trust me if you haven't already made the switch you will be very happy when you do.

RZ is head and shoulders above the rest. it's a modified SPR, so it has all the stability of SPR, and way more stability than CWM. it also adds tons of functions and options that SPR didn't have, and even more than CWM. to me, if you have the stability of SPR, and more functionality than CWM, what more do you need?!?! go get it!!!!!
