i rooted with soup or root and was trying out different roms (i have 3 backup points) and i tried loading a sapphire 1.1.1 rom but it wouldnt load anything (the screen just stays dim after the motorola logo). so i figured no big deal and booted the phone into recovery mode but the clockwork recovery screen didnt load, the normal recovery did and now i cant get to nandroid to load my backup.

does anyone know what i could do?

    thanks

Check to make sure you still have root and if you do get into ROM Manager, flash Clockwork again. If you can't get it to take, try flashing it 3x in a row. If that doesn't work, try flashing alternate recovery at the bottom, then clockwork, then alternate recover, then clockwork, then alternate, then clockwork again. Yeah, you have to do it 3x each like that. Known issue with install errors.

Let us know if you have any further issues. :)

If you don't have root you'll want to root using the second link in my signature.

Well, with regular recovery you could load the stock ROM. If you can get into the bootloader then you can flash SPRecovery and load the rooted ROM of your choice.

To get into the bootloader you power the phone down, slide out the keyboard, and press up (towards the screen) on the D-pad, hold it down and power the phone up. However, if you can get into the stock recover you can get into the bootloader. :)

You're not bricked. Do you want to keep root?

in recovery mode my options are:

    reboot system now
    apply sdcard:update.zip
    wipe date/factory reset
    wipe cache partition
    wipe baseband data

i think i tried the update.zip option and it said aborted
