i got the clockwork via rom manager (donate) so i could use the cyanogen rom, and i'm loving it, but what if i mess something up and i need to roll back to a previous rom that is nandroid. will i still be able to go into recovery and restore the nandroid??

You'll need to reflash sprecovery. The easiest easy to do so is to download dmupdater. Once you do that, you can nandroid back. If you want to stay with cyanogen, just continue using clockwork.

Sorry for the lack of info...you can download it here... DroidMod v1.0 is out - DroidMod

You'll need astro file manager or another app with installer abilities to install it, but it will flash recovery for you when you open it.

it's cool i forget things too, so say i got stuck at the boot screen, and i still have the clockwork recovery installed, how would i be able to make the dmupdater come up so i can restore to a different rom....

i did just back up my cyanogen rom from the rom manager, so maybe i won't even have to worry about the dmupdater??

You don't need the dm if you stay with cyanogen, but the version of clockwork that rom manager installs doesn't recover other roms well...

ok yea i think i'm gonna stick with the cyanogen, this is the best rom i've had so far, (no fc's, restarts etc), so if i jack somethin up then i'll reinstall the rom from the clockwork recovery

Use the guide in my signature about clockwork. That'll take you through reinstalling cyanogen from clockwork. If I were you, I'd go ahead and use dm updater to get sorecovery back after you get cyanogen running again. Then, you can create a nandroid backup of it.

I've seen done people say that older versions of clockwork don't have the restore issue that the version which comes through rom manager has, but I can't confirm that and don't know where you can get a different version...

I have an old version of clockwork version # 1.4.1

Here is the link from my file share...

I'm not sure if this version will fix the restore issue, but I'd be interested to know if it does, as I'm considering installing CyanogenMod myself.
