I cleared the cache partition after upgrading and it only took about 20 min. Odd that there is such a large delta between our process times.

I tried again and it just sat there for an hour. Rebooted and going on with life!

That's crazy! I've never known a device to take that long to do a simple cache clear.
I agree....crazy. And that's why I think there is a bug in the process for this phone. Not a huge issue, should not have to clear the cache often. But something is not quite right.

FYI, I did another cache partition wipe this morning. This time without first clearing the app cache to see if it would take longer. It didn't. I timed it at 6 minutes total.

I've cleared the Cache on the Turbo and it's taken quite a long time too. What may be the difference between Turbo cache clearing and others is quite possibly that perhaps the Turbo actually overwrites all the data storage area when it clears that cache, where instead others may just mark the data area as "free space" again. This is pure speculation but still worthy of consideration.

I remember that Kit Kat introduced a bug that caused it to take very long on every Moto phone. Then Lollipop fixed it on the Moto X, but not the Turbo

When I try to do the clear cache.. It will seem as if it is doing it and after about 20 minutes the yellow print will scroll on my screen and then the screen goes black. Then the dead android guy appears with No Command under it and it just sits there and blinks every few seconds..

Sorry for my lack of correct terminology. :/

With the long length of time it takes on Lollipop I would not recommend clearing the cache right now. I'm not sure that there is any benefit on the Turbo right now, it seems to be a flawed process

I cleared cache on my turbo a few days ago and I'm still waiting on it to finish. JK It seemed to go fine, but it did take about 10 minutes... I think. I just got the process going and left it all alone on my desk to do it's thing. It got along just fine without me.

Yeah it's really weird..sometimes it will go pretty fast...15 mins or less...sad that I consider that fast for what should be a 5 minute function....
Or other times..20+mins and you wonder if your phone is looping...
