I've tried this all sorts of ways, yet the DROID seems to refuse to clear all browsing history. EX: keep tapping the back button, and all is still there after pressing all sorts of clearing/saving buttons.

Anyone have a fool proof solution to this that I am over looking?

What I've tried:

While on the main Google Search page, I enter Settings. I check and uncheck all the appropriate buttons, scroll down, and SAVE.

This does not seem to work. Sooo...

While in the browser, I tap the menu key, hit MORE, and go into SETTINGS. Under PRIVACY SETTINGS, I clear the cache, clear history, clear all cookie data, and clear form data.

This too does not seem to do the trick.

What am I missing???

maps- not sure now w/ update.
google search-go to main Google homepage and at bottom of page click on settings and then your options are there for saving your search history.
youtube- just go to settings and clear history.

Are you sure you mean data instead of cache, I cleared the cache, went to clear data and got a pop up saying that I'd loose all settings. Don't want to have to reconfigure everything. Just asking if someone has done this.

for google search yea......go to google home page in browser.....

settings at bottom of the WEBPAGE....not settings on phone......

go to settings..under search history choose "do not save searches," and even an option to clear saved searches.

Just make sure the last page you are on before you clear the history is one that you do not mind anyone seeing. ;)

This doesn't work with the google shortcut widget on the home screen. Has anyone figured out how to clear the history from that?

Has to be a way?!!!

I agree, Bueller?!!! I've tried everything under the sun (at least from my perspective) and no matter what you do (i.e. clear history, clear cache, etc.) if you keep hitting the back button, it takes you back to previously viewed websites. Help?!!!

Oh, and even if restarting works, that really is not a practical option.

Stop looking at porn on your phone if there is someone who will be looking at your phone who will be upset about it.

To clear the google shortcut button's search history, go to Settings > Search > Clear search shortcuts. That will clear it.
