Interesting off topic news for those who remember the failed competitor to Best Buy:

Circuit City to be resurrected this summer

I have spent many hours inside Circuit City, much more than Best Buy.

I hated when they shut down.

I'm wondering of they can make it in this day and age. Retail electronics has become much more difficult than it was when they were still around.

The only time I would go into Circuit City (when they were open) was to price compare and listen to various stereo components before purchasing. They had a much nicer listening room than Best Buy did. Even if you could find a Best Buy that had a Magnolia Theatre listening room, they were very limited with the actual products you could sample/compare, whereas CC had a much wider variety of products to sample in their home theater room. That said, I usually ended up purchasing from Best Buy in the end. IIRC, the only thing I ever purchased from them was a DVD player & some speaker wire back in the early-mid 90s.
I don't see them lasting long if they do bring back brick & mortar stores.
