    Hey,
I know CIFS support used to be included in roms, but lately,I haven't been able to make it work. I have tried 4.96 and 5.0, but to no avail. Is there a cifs.ko file included in the rom, or is there one that I can download and load manually so I can mount a cifs share? Thanks.

Go to the "Bugs List" stickie. Last page. I don't think anyone has actually resolved it. Probably a kernel issue.

Andrew - they are included in my latest set of kernels - download the kernel corresponding to what you are already running, and cifs should then work in tools

Great, I'll give it a try. As always, thanks for all your hard work! Take the weekend off and drive up to Flag for some skiing/boarding, just got pounded with like 32 inches up on the mountain ;)

When you say the latest kernel, is it in Rom Manager or do I need to grab it from the forum? In the meantime, I need to figure out which one I'm using!! Lol!!!

RM and the forum all have the same links - so either should work!

    Hey all,

Just trying to make sure I understand this right, but because of the locked bootloader we cannot run custom kernels on the DX which means there is no CIFS support for any current roms / CM with the existing kernels? Or is it a matter of finding a nightly that supports it?

Any help would be appreciated. I think I read too much into this where I confused myself...:icon_eek:
