I installed 3.5 last night. Full wipe and formated system and boot. When I go into navigation I get a "Checking navigation availability" message and then the app closes. It was working fine before the install. GPS Status has no trouble finding my location.

    Any suggestions?

    Sincerely,

make sure data is enabled and data roaming is enabled in menu/settings/wireless&networks as well as use wireless networks and use GPS satellites are enabled in the menu/settings/location&security

if they all are...try unchecking them and rechecking them and reboot and try your GPS again

I also have the issue mentioned by the OP and following the recommended fix did not work. I have also tried clearing data and such but no luck. I can use maps, but not navigation.

    r u running custom kernel?
have you modded the rom after install at all?
    have you deleted anything?

at worst you may try reflashing the 3.5 Rom over your current setup, just backup but it will just overlay the system and framework etc again giving you a fresh install....

edit: use TiBup and backup your apps, reflash PE 3.5 and try it stock.......I can promise you it works perfectly as I have ran every Rom he makes both before and after release....

I am running the same kernel version as you and no, I haven't made any changes to the system. Does it work for you?

Gps works fine in maps. I have no idea I'm at work so I'd have to test that later. I'm going to re-install maps after I wipe all caches.

The method that I mentioned a post before worked for me. Unistalled maps, cleared cache partition and dalvik cache, and then installed maps again.

    "Checking Navigation Availability"

I have a droid x, rooted but running the stock rom. I am no expert but I've messed around a little, rooting, overclocked, etc. I had no trouble until yesterday when I got the "checking navigation availability" message. I tried resetting to stock through the phone's menus and changing my options a million times and I finally fixed it. What worked for me was simply uninstalling the update for google maps. I went to the market, hit uninstall updates, and navigation was back up and running. Hope this works for you as well!

    thank you all for responding.

I tried all of the suggestions. The only thing that worked was flashing the ROM a few times.
