Has this EVER worked for anyone? I don't think it even checks...it comes back so quick with "your system is up to date"...

i did it with my Droid X when the .604 came out - when it was out for sure (confirmed by a few users) I used it and it said I had an update

but if youre wondering about the 2.2 for the droid, its been postponed.

no I wasn't referring to any specific update such as FroYo. just in general... it's like one of those CANCEL buttons in an application that you press that does absolutely nothing.

If there is not an update, what do you expect it to do?

It doesn't do anything, when your phone gets the alert that a new version is available then it prompts you. Other than that, nothing.

Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk

I can only speak for the Droid since thats the only phone I have but in the 10 months I've owned the phone I've never received an update by checking for system updates manually.

Verizon has always pushed the updates out. So why is it even there?

if rooted and blocked it can be used to readd it if unrooted.

if you woulda checked a few hours before getting the update, it prolly woulda told you you needed an update

this thread is pointless. if u have an update that vzw has put out, it will tell you. if not, then itll show nothing.

lol I used to think this to, that it was just hardcoded in there to say "Your System is Up To Date"..
