charging question

I have tried to read up before asking this but hopefully someone can shed some light on problem. I was trying to flash cm7 and got to boot screen and I waited to long to sbf back and battery is dead and won't charge.every time I plug it unit stays on bootlogo.
Any ideas how to charge battery
