Hello,

I recently messed up my original charger for my Moto Droid 1. I bought an aftermarket usb cable off the net.

I also installed a new custom rom (liquid frozen yogurt 1.95)

Since then, my phone seems to not hold charge for long and will dramatically loose charge as well as having problems when i plug in the charger.

I have to fiddle A LOT with the cable for the phone to recognize that the cable should charge...and not touch the phone so that it will keep charging. Its super delicate.

Also, the cable plug might be smaller..seems to not be a tight fit.

So im wondering..is it a software issue or is it physical?

Having the same problem with a genuine Motorola wall charger plugging into my Droid 2. Not a tight fit, have to push it in all the way, and if the angle isn't perfectly square with the phone, the charger loses contact. Those pins are tiny. Not much room for error. Have another wall charger, USB to micro USB, and the micro USB end is just a mm longer than the troublesome one, but it fits better and no problem keeping contact.
I bet your problem is how well the micro USB fits in the charging port.
It is so easy to make a mistake and try to force a micro USB into the port upsidedown. They should have stuck with the mini-USB.
