It still shows $199 for me... is this maybe dependent on zip code? what's your zip code? I could definitely go for it at $129.

Hopefully this means some of the newer phones are getting ready to be released. They are probably trying to sale as many of the older phones before the newer ones come out..

I am new to the board although I have been reading for months and had decided on changing from my IPhone on AT&T to a Samsung Charge on VZN. When I found this post I immediately went to Amazon wireless and ordered one for me and one for my girlfriend. Amazing deal on this phone. I received 2 for less than the cost of 1 at the local VZN store. I look forward to playing with the phone. I have been in the IT field, tech support, for 10 years now and have experience with Windows, OS X, Linux and Unix operating systems and really look forward to playing with my new Android phone.

My Verizon rep told me that if you buy through Amazon that you cannot switch your plan. Is this true? I will need to switch our plan in December.

The 129 price is only good if you are starting a brand new account. It is 199 if you add or upgrade.

be carefull , I was told if you have a family share plan and use the second line for your upgrade you can not bring that phone to the first line or will be charged a $350 fee. It must remain actve on the line you use for at least 6 months.

For New Individual and Family Share add a line accounts: $129.99
For Existing Individual + Family Share add a line accounts: $199.99

Not to mention with Amazon you canNOT change a thing on your plan
once you're past 14 days. Doing so will incur fees. Just a head's up.

    Check Wirefly.com

You can get the Charge for $129 for new service, $199 for renewal. You can change your plan during checkout. HTH.

I ended up using Amazon because I absolutely didn't want to make any changes to my account because of discounts from my job.

I just got the Charge through Costco... $179. Unlike amazon and wirefly, you must keep the phone you buy on the line you used your upgrade with... No switching it to another line b/c you will be charged an outrageous fee if you do. Costco, you can switch the phone to any line you want and could even sell it if you wanted with no penalty fees. You also get a free bonus package... Leather Case, stereo headphones and car charger.

My wife has a rooted Thunderbolt and I have a rooted D1. She is not thrilled with the battery life and I was thinking about buying a Charge, root it and give it to her, then I'll use her Thunderbolt. Will that work in theory even if I buy from Amazon (without the outrageous fee charged by Amazon)?

If she's syncing the crap out of every service and isn't taking
preventative measures to maximize battery life...the Charge will also
burn through battery life -of course the drain maybe dependent
on other issues besides usage like area/location as well as signal integrity/
    switching between 3 and 4G.

2nd, you CANNOT change a thing on the plan.
Switching the phones over should technically *not*
count as changing a thing however wouldn't it be wise of you to READ
the terms and conditions OR call them to confirm?

You wouldn't want to take hear say as fact when a simple
phone call would yield confirmation... :)

Even though you might say, "I just wanted to hear from someone
that knows" -ever hear of YMMV?
